Can records which have a speed of 24 rpm be included on the 78 RPM area on here, or do they have their own area / 'world' some-where else on here I wonder ?

I presume these are talking records for the blind or dictation records and as such would be from the 78 era. So my view is 78RPM is the best place for them.

The label looks like 78 era one and it doesn’t really fit in the LP world so unless others disagree it seems to be the best place, do you have any others ? OK so it wasn’t the last question.
Shall I just add the different 'A' side labels to the one newly created record or would it be better to create another 10 separate records for each record ? (Does that make sense ?).
I suppose they all have different catalogue numbers so 10 more separate records ?

As they refer to one book and I presume the labels are the same as this one without an individual cat. no. so they would all look the same ? If that’s the case I would just add the cat. No.s as additional numbers and change the format to album. You could add the different Braille images to this entry with the individual cat. No. In the image description.
Unless someone has a different view.
24 is a strange speed, it is about half 45, and feels like it should sit better in LP world with the 16 rpms. In 78 I think we have the reverse running transcription and similar discs but I am not certain about the blind ones, they were probably superseeded by the cassette or tape format (or were rtr tapes contemporay with them?). happy to go with the flow but as not 78 or shellac think LP is is better place for the book
No picture 'cos I'm not into 45rpm :( Member since Jan 2013 3428 Points Moderator
I only read this thread after I'd made a comment, so please read that on the entry.
I'd like to see it in 78rpm as they started in 1935, long before anything like LPs and vinyl. We have lots of non-78rpm '78rpms' already (cylinders, early Gramophone Co recordings, Columbia 80rpms, etc ...)

Have changed the format to album added 12" to Notes and added the extra Cat. No.s. In case someone questions the fact there is no gap between letters and numbers is if you leave a gap you exceed the limit of characters in the Cat. No. box.
Unless I missed it there seems to be no mention of the 24 rpm speed on the entry. Would it not make sense to reference it?
Edit: I missed it. It’s not abundantly clear that it is 24 rpm.
Thank you Redpunk. For someone (like me) who didn’t know that 24rpm was a thing I think it helps if it is clear and obvious that it is different to the norm.
