Hi
Does anybody know anything about the release above by IRVING KAUFMAN Masculine Women Feminine Men. I believe there was a recording on COLUMBIA 569 or 569-D as well as Savoy Havana Band His Masters Voice B5027?
I am looking to add this to my collection, after watching 'Are you being served' on television recently where they used it on the finishing musical number on the episode 'New Look'.
Many Thanks
Thank You - Yes you are correct, I believe he had at least 12 aliases. There is a quote, I have seen where his wife asked him as he left for the recording studio, "who are you going to be today" to which he replied he didn't know until he arrived at the studio.
I have been checking but to date only info on the 78rpms in the first post. That version is on youtube. I hope to locate either a copy to purchase, having the record to play on the gramophone is so much more pleasurable than listening on youtube

The HMV issue is in a batch of Savoy Orpheans issues (B5022 - 5033), but they were issued in April 1926 and deleted in December 1927 or 1928, so won't be very common. The vocalist is named as R Newton.
JJ raises an interesting question. Did any Writer invent a ghost co-writer - we know many writers had a single alias (or multiples of) , but did any write under their own name (or one alias) an pair it with another ?
