I have to say I'm a little uncertain about this S-R-W...
... It strikes me as not being a substantive or material difference to the issue itself... no variation on printing, a separate issue, distinct from the stock copy... in fact it's just a stock copy with a sticker slapped on it.
In the olden days of 45 vinyl, they used to have separate demo or promo labels made up to distinguish them, but into the CD mass market / manufacture era, and cost cutting exercises ("efficiencies"), they just did this kind of thing... which can be easily made at home and put on a shop bought copy.
(Much like the rather dodgy "Factory Sample" stickers on stock copies of 45s that people think warrant a few extra bucks for on ebay.)
To me, these stickers, even including the more informative stickers that provide additional band / management info, are only additional info stickers, like hype stickers, except the ones you are talking about aren't even specific to that issue.
As it happens, I myself rejected your request for the Texas CD on this basis, and I also felt that the current lead image (with or without sticker) was a better image.
I will of course, do whatever most people want, so perhaps Juke Jules might cast an eye over the CD correction queue and offer advice, and get a consensus?

Hi MM.
Thank you for your informative reply. I agree that the non Promo cover looks better, (unfortunately the Promo one is water damaged) so I accept the reasoning behind your decision to keep the non-promo issue as the first picture on the page.
Btw, in this case I can assure you that this Promo item has good provenance. (It was sent directly from the record company to the then manager of a big-name British band, who in turn gave it to me years later).

Glad you both agree, especially srw, as I'm always fearful of giving offence by my determinations... I try not to make the rules, just apply them when they are known, if not, take advice from members, who's knowledge this site is designed to accommodate, and be built by.
-Mine is not to reason why... Mine is but to jump and jive! :)
I will try to leave a comment to the effect on such pages in future when I have to make a decision like this that might be a matter of opinion or point of view.
