For the second and third tracks here, we momentarily step back into the weird stuff, again and, the end of CD 17 also takes us into another section of dark psych, and then, after the two weird tracks, the next three tracks are JUST GORGEOUS!!!!
Motherlight is actually the name of the album but, as the artist is a set of names, like: Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Sacco & Vanzeti, Motherlight will suffice. As far as I know, it's the only album they ever recorded and it's pretty hard to find a copy.
Richard Twice got their name from the fact that both of the leads are named, Richard.
The Flat Earth Society was asked to record the music for a short-lived kids T.V. show called, "Space Kids" where a couple of kids buddied up with a guy that had his own rocket ship and they all went off into space to explore the universe. I'm not sure if the record was ever released and a number of the tracks weren't exactly psych but, some were!! A number of the bonus tracks on the CD were pretty cool, too, including this one which, as far as I'm concerned, was the best track on the album!
And, we go back into some more weird stuff!!
This track by Rabbit Habit is a single from a psychedelic movie, "Angel, Angel, Down We Go". The singer is Jordan Christopher and the back-up band was actually called, The Baby.
I'm Wanting Her, is another really cool psych track!! The only thing that takes the psych out of it is the harmonica solo.
I'm not sure why but, I love the thick voice on the singer of East River Lovers. Something about guys with a thick voice attracts me and I don't know why! I never noticed it until about 25 years ago. It's just a cool sound.. I've probably heard a few but, I can't for the life of me, think of a single girl that has one!
Apothecary Dream!!! What an INCREDIBLE song!!! If someone asked me what psych is, chances are, I'd play them this track!!
Another really good one is, "I Satisfy"!
On the bulk of CD 19, we'll continue with more dark stuff!.
