| Berliner Gamophone records sleeve |

 | j.monk Member since Sep 2017 167 Points | I've come across a Berliner record (Discogs gives a recording date of 1898 !) that comes with a sleeve, and I realized I never wondered how these records were packaged... Could this be an original Berliner sleeve or is it a personnal/custom sleeve ? |

 | Redpunk SUBS Crates Are For Digging Member since Aug 2012 25322 Points Moderator | The writing on the front was almost certainly added by the record owner early in it's history but whether they all came in a standard plain sleeve may need a time machine to resolve that matter beyond doubt. |

| Redpunk SUBS Crates Are For Digging Member since Aug 2012 25322 Points Moderator | I'm not an authority on this issue this is just my view but to prove that this is an authorised sleeve we would need to see more examples matching this one to be found. |

| scrough No picture 'cos I'm not into 45rpm :( Member since Jan 2013 3428 Points Moderator | There are 3 recordings listed on the Kelly Database Mx:2982 recorded 25 July 1899 on 30041 Mx:279 recorded 5 May 1902 on 30041 Mx:2463F recorded 10 November 1903 on 30041X If it is a Berliner, its probably the first one above. |
