I am questioning the countries of both the !K7 label and the various labels and publishers from which !K7 derives it material. At the moment we have a few CD albums, all entered as German: !K7, and a few CD singles entered as either Germany or UK: !K7

Taking Boozoo Bajou as an example we can see that all the printed text is in English and directed principally at the home audience for this American band. JPGR&B has put in a link to the !K7 website where we can see that the company is multinational with offices in Berlin, London and New York
k7.com/about/
They go on to say that they release records including on physical media, of material licenced from other record companies who maybe do not wish to be involved with manufacturing and distributing physical media

From this I conclude that anything on !K7 or K7! should be entered as International. The case is less clear-cut for CD singles, some of which are clearly intended for a German market, while the UK items are all promo give-aways. We will have to wait for the number of commercial releases to increase until we can see some intended for other countries

Meanwhile we have only one album on Owsla which looks to me for all the world (so to speak) to be an International release

I agree with all those points regarding this label.

...The only thing is, the CD singles, as you say, may well be Germany specific... mainly it seems that the German market has maintained a healthy interest in CD singles of various descriptions even when everyone else has largely abandoned the format.

Throughout the history of that format, you tend to find separate issues of the same title, being made in Germany for external markets, but also, made in Germany for Germany, and released parallel to each other (Even though Germany only ones may still have English text).

So it would be no surprise that this label makes CD singles just for Germany, there perhaps being no real market outside of there for them (Other than collectors of specific artists).

JJ: Boozoo Bajou is a German band and the label is also German. That they have an “office” in London and NY doesn’t mean nothing to me….

I believe the label should stay German.
