I've only got about 5.
It's A Wonderful Life
meet John Doe
Rudolph, The Red-nosed Reindeer
Miracle On 34th St.
Better Off Dead (okay, it's not exactly a Christmas movie but it DOES take place over the holidays and has a funny Christmas scene or 3 in it.)
and MAYBE The Snow Queen. Sadly, I've not been able to see the entire movie since I was a kid because some of the bits in the middle have been lost over the past 6 decades.
Another that I first saw Christmas day back in the early `60's was, "Alakazam The Great" and, after at least 2 years, they stopped showing it. I recently found it on YT a few years ago and saw it again and it was just too stupid to even bother with, really. I just saw part of the Japanese version a month ago and it's either no better or even worse than the American version! I was always told Frankie Avalon did the voice of Alakazam and some girl singer of the same era (Connie Stevens?) did the voice of his girlfriend, Dee Dee but, from what I heard last month, that's Peter Hernandez doing Alakazam's voice!! He also did the voice of Speed Racer. I don't recall who did her voice.
Anyway, again, it's not a Christmas movie but, I was just trying to "relive" what it was like back in the early `60's. Another they showed Christmas Day a few years later was, "Gay Purrree" (sp?) but, I just don't bother with that one.
A year ago, weeks before my aunt died (Jan. 5th) she would sit in the living room watching all these Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel ALL DAY LONG and, I'd either be up here or eating in the dining room watching something else and, from what I could HEAR of those movies, they were just a bunch of feel-good romantic holiday crap!! Where they found them or why anyone would go to the trouble to make SO MANY of these is a complete mystery, let alone, who would want to sit through a constant 24/7 barrage of them for weeks on end?? One or two, okay but non-stop for weeks on end?? I thought I was gonna die of syrup poisoning!!
