Hi.

Does anyone know whats going on here?

https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/artist/halford
https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/artist/rob-halford

The exact same CDs are listed on these pages.

To my knowledge Rob Halford has only released 1 solo album called Celestial and it is not listed here yet.

so all releases should be listed under just Halford.

Thanx

Ok to clarify, since he is a well known artiste the main artist is listed with his whole name "Rob Halford"*** and his "Halford" releases are a subset of that ID. They arent list twice as such, it is just the way they appear on that page.

He will also be linked in the future no doubt with his other bands IWO & Fight as and when they are listed here.

*** what most users would type in search.

Just checked the page and log for it, and it seems it was me who added Halford as a pseudonym to Rob Halford two years ago...

(And placed the link between the one page and the other)

...When an artist goes by a single name, or part of that name, as in this case, I look to see if they have also released anything under the full name, which he has... and then include the partial name under the full name, and link it.

/Partly the reason for this, is when you look at Judas Priest (or other band name) of which that artist was / is a member, I try to get the full names for the band members at the head of the page, which you can then link to and see what he / they have released under their full name, partial / pseudonym name, any collaborations (likely under full name, plus whoever they were collaborating with) and links to any other bands / projects they were involved in.

It makes for a generally practical and practicable rule than can be applied in most, if not all cases, for consistency's sake, across site, regardless of which artist (s), so there is a consistency of method in the search process.

I have added "Fight" as a link to Rob Halford's page, alongside Judas Priest, and found one track for "Two", but am not sure if this is the same band you're looking for ;)

Let me know here if any other links with other artists / bands need to be made for him, and, in the words of Batman: "I'll look into it"

Hi Magic.

i understand your reasoning on Rob Halford / Halford but i strongly argue against it.

Rob Halford is a person, whilst Halford is a band/group.
Now, the person Rob Halford can not really be pseudonym for the band Halford or vice versa.

So removal of the pseudonym and add a link ( just, like Judas Priest , Fight) to Halford on the Rob Halford page.

At this point it shouldn't be anything listed on the Rob Halford page, Just apperance (1) and a bunch of links: Judas Priest, Fight, Halford and if you will you could also add Bullring Brummies and Hear n' Aid to the links (both exist in CD World).

Please give it a thought, it would look more correct this way (at least in my mind, it would

Thanx

I gotcha!

Halford is "an act" bearing the same relationship to it's principle namesake / founder member as Van Halen to Eddie Van Halen, or Bon Jovi to Jon Bon Jovi

Seen, considered and agreed.

Have disentangled Halford from Rob Halford, links (plus the rest) added, and should now be squared up in CD albums as per your guidance.

(I'll take a look at Rob Halford in other worlds soon)

Thanx Magic  , you're the best!

now it looks just like i imagined

Quick Question:
is it for any mortal to create the links or is it just for the immortals (Mods)?

Thanx once again

Only immorals can make links.

Not for morals.

I have looked across site at other formats, and as Hear 'n aid exists in vinyl albums, and a collaboration track on a vinyl album was there for Mr. Halford, I have created Rob Halford as an artist to put that track on, and act as a jump off point for links to both Judas Priest and Hear 'n Aid, but the other band names were not present, so it's a little sparse... I'll update the page with links etc. as and when items by those others arrive.

But in other worlds, I'm afraid there just isn't enough, if anything to work with at the moment... no Rob Halfords, or Halfords, Fight, or Hear 'n Aid.

(There is a band called "Two" on vinyl albums, but it's a pop duo, and not the Halford group, and there is a "Fight" on 12" singles, but again, pretty sure it's not who we want... naturally, didn't bother checking 78s, but am prepared to be corrected! )

Haha, nice one

Excellent work!!!!

So, it just for immorals to do the deed, you'll be a busy man from now on

For starters i think Ronnie James Dio deserves the same treatment as Mr. Halford.

just one link on the Ronnie James Dio page and thats Dio (of course).

So when you find the time and /or if u r willing to do it a lot of links should be added to him.

Here's a few: Ronnie And The Redcaps, Ronnie And The Prophets, Electric Elves, The Elves, Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven And Hell and guess what Hear 'N Aid.

All exist in CD World, pretty sure Rainbow and Black Sabbath, Elf in other world as well.

Thanx
