Today at a Goodwill for .99 I came across the album The Association Greatest Hits, pulled the record out to check condition and what I found was a blank white label on one side and the other side shows the Reprise label with the 7 arts symbol next to it. The second side label is white and black with the Title The Association Greatest Hits!. The left side of the label has the cat# W-1767 and the right side has Side 2 listed. The titles have no numbers next to them or composer info as well as no publishing information. Some of the titles are incorrect according to the playlist of side 2, The Time It Is Today and Like Always. Missing titles are Enter The Young, No Fair At All and Wendy. Six Man Band, Time For Livin', We Love are out of sequence and Requiem For The Masses is listed on the wrong side. I am not sure what I have found but was just wondering if anyone has any information on this record, the record is in great condition except Barb Brown wrote her name in ink on the blank side. Thank you for your time and help any help I can get on this subject.
vinyl fan: what you have sounds like a test pressing by warner-seven arts of some stage in the process towards production of the final ''greatest hits''; seven arts owned both warner bros. and reprise records by then, so it'd've been of no particular significance which of their labels got plonked on an earlyish test pressing before the track order was settled, and the typesetting of the track-listing needed to fit into the warner-seven arts pre-printed blanks.
you don't say what the actual track running-order is on the two sides of the oddity you have, as opposed to what's on the labels; does it match that of the album as issued ?

The A side label is blank but plays the songs in correct order as listed on the back cover.
Side B plays in the correct order as listed on the back of the cover but the titles listed are as such: Six Man Band
Time For Livin'
We Love
The Time It Is Today
Like Always (It is on Side A) Cherish is the correct song in this spot.
Requiem For The Masses
On side 2 there are 7 songs but this only list 6 titles. None of the songs have the authorship listed, the running times, publishing info nor the number next to them. Sorry for the delay in replying, I hope this information helps. Thank you for replying and giving me some insight on this particular copy of this album.
