I was just thinking the day after I finished Woodstock that I used to like a lot of spacey music, mostly from the mid to late `70's when album rock was really big on FM stations and I decided to try to put together a compilation of that stuff I used to like. Problem is, I've been away from my collection for 3 years, I've been through hell the past 7 or 8 years and I've been away from that particular type of music for about 40 years! So, I'm just not as familiar with it anymore and thought yinz might be able to toss some ideas my way to spark more memories for me.
Most of the stuff I'm talking about is minor key music that tends to have at least SOME synth in it.
So far, the list contains these:
Alan Parsons / A Dream Within A Dream / The Raven
Steve Miller / The Window / Space Intro / Fly Like An Eagle
Gary Wright / Dream Weaver
Foreigner / Starrider
Kraftwerk / Mitternacht
Norman Greenbaum / Marcy / Alice Bodine
Moody Blues / Twilight Time / Days Of Future Past / Lost In A Lost World / Candle Of Life / What Am I Doing Here / Melancholy Man / Watching And Waiting (and a few others. I have to listen to the last 4 of their classic 7 again to get used to what's there.)
The Sopwith Camel / Fazon
Klaatu / Little Neutrino
ELP / From The Beginning / Still...You Turn Me On
Manfred Mann / Spirits In The Night
Tim Blake / New Jerusalem
Fingers Akimbo / The Buttonwillow
Yes / "Soon" (from Gates Of Delirium)
There's also gonna be some early Tangerine Dream tossed in. I have at least 75 hours worth of their stuff so, no need to even mention them.

Some others that MIGHT make the cut are:
Nazareth / Please Don't Judas Me / Shapes Of Things To Come
Hawkwind / Psi Power
SFF / Slow Motion / Ticket To Everywhere
Fleetwood Mac / Crystal
Pink Floyd / Astronomy Domine / Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun (both from Ummagumma) / Welcome To The Machine / Cirrus Minor
UK / In The Dead Of Night
The Fixx (I seriously doubt it but, POSSIBLY a couple things from their first 3 albums.)
Dire Straits / Sultans Of Swing / MAYBE Brothers in Arms
(Most of these will only go if they have the right feel to them.)

Anybody else have any ideas of stuff I can use/

I think I have the Lothar album
I HAD the Stooges album, hated it and traded it to my bass player for a new Savoy Brown album. It's all he had to offer.
Thanks, anyway. I'll check them out.

Thanks! I have the Argent but haven't heard it more than twice about 40 years ago. I'll have to check these all out.

This ones a little closer to what I'm looking for, as far as the spacey stuff. Except for the two psych tunes (so far) the rest of it I've heard is more mid `80's and will go nicely into that project along side stuff like Steve Kilbey. (I guess it'd be nice if I added the damn link!)

Manfred comes REAL close
Argent is a bit too jazzy and fast. I wanna check out Kohoutek, next. I know I used to like that but, I haven't heard it in about 40 years. Well, it started out promising.
Gong, good and I'm gonna have to check out a few of my Steve Hillage albums. I'm probably gonna add the opening bit of Tubular Bells to the list, too.
This one works!! I forgot all about it `til seconds ago!
So does "For No One" by Barclay-James Harvest! Forgot about that one, too! POSSIBLY "Psi Power" by Hawkwind.
