Does anybody have a clear picture of the Super Deluxe Edition Beatles Revolver and just what exactly comes with it. Obviously everything you can see in the advert is in the box but I'm being told allsorts about a Dolby Atmos mix being available with a download voucher but I've yet to see an advert saying that, mentions or even hints at such a thing being made available. Giles Martin even hinted at an "Immersive" edition being available?. Remastered or not, I for one won't be shelling out £120 for yet another "Stereo" version and a load of other demos and out-takes that have been floating around the Internet for at least the last 20 years which I already have and some dopey E.P. For me the only thing that sold Pepper, Abbey Rd, White Album and Let It Be box sets to me was the opportunity to listen to The Beatles differently. I've never played any of the other discs, (except the Surround versions), that came with those box sets because I've already been listening to them for most of my life and at 68 I'm not wasting any time listening to stuff I already have. The general concensus of opinion over on the Quadraphonic Quad forum is not to buy it and if enough people do that then the price will come down to a reasonably acceptable level for such a poor product.

Hi Quad5point1
This article explains what is in the Super Deluxe Edition (and all the other versions for that matter).
As far as I can glean from the article and a deep-dive into the 350-odd comments so far -
1) An Atmos mix has been created but is not included with any of the physical releases i.e. it will only be available to stream or download.
2) There is no download voucher included with the physical releases.

Cheers rustieneil, I definitely won't be buying it then, maybe if they had put a more realistic price on the package of around £60 - £70 I might be tempted but £120 for a box set with no Blu-Ray is just shocking. There are loads of people who buy these box sets not for the 5.1 Surround or Dolby Atmos but for the High Resolution Stereo mixes previously made available on the Blu-Ray, so there's another revenue stream cut off. I hope when they realise it isn't selling just what a big mistake they've made

The waters muddy even further. I got an email today to preorder this box set and now there's a VIDEO that says there's a download. Unfortunately none of the ads or videos say just what this download consists of. Very frustrating and annoying.

I agree it's not very clear and makes me wonder if anyone in marketing tries to look at what they produce from a customer perspective but thebeatles.com says that one of the available editions is:

Revolver Special Edition (Super Deluxe): 63 tracks
Digital Audio Collection (stereo & hi res 96kHz/24-bit stereo + mono + Dolby Atmos)

I don't know if that means you get all 3 (stereo, hi-res and Atmos) as a bundle or whether you can pick and mix...

I'll be waiting for the price of the physical release to drop significantly, hopefully in time to put on my Xmas list :)

@ rustieneil, the only word that describes this release is a debacle. There's no other word for it. I'm with you rustieneil, I won't be parting with any money until there is a more definitive explanation of just what exactly the box set includes. The Dolby Atmos mix is supposed to be on streaming services _only_, so why include it in the box as a download if you want to force people to subscribe to a streaming service to get it. Whose to say that if the streaming audience figures drop off that it wouldn't someday be pulled off-air. If it was downloadable at least you could burn it to BD-R and have a reasonably good chance of owning it in perpetuity. I'm just now waiting on the Surround mix of Pink Floyd's album Animals, at least they made it available as a single disc for around £22 and not making people spend hundreds to get a lavish box set that you won't play the half of.

Regarding the Download for the upcoming Revolver release, I emailed Burning Shed as their listing doesn't mention the Download either and the reply I got was as follows:-

Thanks for your email.

It’s a bit unclear about the download so I have asked Universal to clarify what they mean. As soon as I have an answer I’ll let you know.

Kind Regards

This is the furthest I've been able to get on this
