This might take a while to explain.
In summer `83, I got romantically involved with my best friend. At this point, I'd known her for at least 2.5 years. We'll call her 1. The wind blew and the shit flew and she broke up with me a few months later and I lost track of her for at least 10 years. By this time, I was madly in love with this other woman. We'll call her 2.
In `93, my band played at the wedding of a long-time friend of ours and part of the wedding party consisted of 1 and the guy she threw me over for. During one of our breaks, my bass player decided to play this odd new album by The Orb. It was called, "Pomme Fritz". I'd never heard of it before and, looking at the cover, noticed that it included Steve Hillage in the band!
A few weeks later, after seeing me at the wedding, I get a letter in the mail from 1 professing her great love for me!! She wants me back!! 2, eventually, finds the letter and gets drunk at work that night (one beer is all it took, she doesn't drink. She was a waitress.) and I spent hours trying to convince her that I don't want 1 anymore! I know this happened in `93 because of where we were living, at the time. We didn't move out of there until the following April! By that time, 1 and I had become good friends again and, just after 2 & I moved to the new place, 1 & I were walking down that street and she asked me what I thought about David Koresh and the whole WACO thing that just took place! (Which puts another kink in the timeline because that happened the PREVIOUS April!)
The puzzle is, how could I have heard and seen that Orb album almost a year before it came out? How did Toby get a copy a year before it came out?? It was released June 13th `94! I KNOW we were still living on Ward St. until April of `94!! We moved to Oakland Ave. in late April and then had to move again in late May to Trenton Ave.. I KNOW we were still on Ward St. when 1 sent me that letter because I know 2 got ill on that beer that night and I had to pick her up out of the stairwell. We were on the 2nd floor. We didn't have a stairwell at Trenton! We were on the 1st floor! We also never got the waterbed set up at Trenton and I had to pour her into it the night she got drunk!

Are you sure it was '93, B-IM? And are you sure that it was Pomme Fritz?

The Orb often didn't list who the performers were on their albums. Pomme Fritz was one such which didn't.
