 | Mike Wilson1 Musicologist Member since Dec 2019 26 Points | I found a website that stated Jay Wilbur & His Gang released a record in 1942 with the title "The First Waltz"......No catalogue numbers available.....Can anybody throw any light on this at all ? |

| danceband91 Member since Nov 2020 119 Points | Seems an odd tune for Jay Wilbur's band to record. I know he did produce some solo piano records (which would not be in the British Dance Band discography), and also conducted various light orchestras (although I believe only after the war). I suspect any recording he made in 1942 would have been on the Rex label, a full discography for which can be found here: http://www.mgthomas.co.uk/Records/LabelPages/Rex.htm. But no sign of if there either. |
