Currently there are two listings for this venue in Fulham Road, South London. The gig ads from the music press at the time give the address as 490 Fulham Road, London SW6, which is correct on this listing for The Golden Lion but incorrect on the listing for Golden Lion. Therefore can the gigs on the latter listing be moved over to the first one with the correct address? Thanks.

Regards and respect to Burton. I was going to say, no, no , no, still 2 venues, but on reflection I agree this needs doing as all 'The Golden Lion' gigs are in a short time span and have the 490 number, or 385 3942 (phone number), in the images.
I looked at this anomaly back in 2021 and guessed 490 changed name in the late 80's, and 57 took the vacant name later (both then without music).
BUT if we take a brief look at Google or Wiki the only Golden Lion Fulham shows no.57, open currently, with a 1000 year history there. So another query but let's skip that (their error?), as we are only doing 1974/82.
However a search of Redback (490 new name) Fulham gets a Camra page stating the original pub name from 1770 was The Red Lion!!
Now a Google of The Red Lion Fulham ...... go to londonwiki, and we get a residents list from 1800 to a directory page in the mid 1970's. All at 490/2.
So anomaly again, which needs more local info - from attendees perhaps! Meanwhile lets unite the lists; and include this as a biography if may seem useful.

Golden Lion on your comment is on Fulham High Street just as you come over Putney Bridge and on the map says The Golden Lion which is now called Temperance, l use to play snooker there, but can’t remember what it was called back in the 70s.
The Golden Lion is on the Fulham Road at Fulham Broadway, now called The Redback. There use to be a record shop “On Broadway” next door to it.
The wife lived at 706 Fulham Road.

Ok so I have moderated the venue/ gigs as follows.
All 13 gigs are moved to Golden Lion. 490 Fulham Rd., London SW6 5NH
There are / were 2 Golden Lions (at the same time) the other is at 57 Fulham High St, London SW6 3JJ
This second place has has an extensive wiki page which mentions gigs but I cannot see any proof yet? no gigs listed here or flyers.
The Temperance is a separate venue across the road from 57 Fulham H ST

I've noticed we have 2 gigs listed as NEW Golden Lion - I think this is probably 490/2 but the (1) ad doesnt say? Anybody got a circa 1982 NME or MM they can check the ADs in ?

Likewise I used to work in the Fulham/ Putney area 20 years ago and have been past all 3 of these pubs without going in, The Greyhound yes and some others but not these 3. Incidently when you use Google Maps look for the blue lettering "see more dates" you can go back in time (as far as 2008)

The Greyhound has gone, the last of my outlaws moved out of London as well as myself last year so no longer a Londoner after 72 years.
