A member has recently (rightly IMHO) asked the "Audio Book" question again and ...
I realise this has been discussed in the past, but, as more and more CD Audio Books are being added to "CD Album" world, is it not time to consider a separate "Audio Book World" where Audio books on all formats could be added, as, i think there are surely thousands of these, if not hundreds of thousands!.
For me, and others i suspect, "CD Album" World is not the first place to look for a book!, it's a book foremost, regardless of what format it's on, CD, Cassette, Digital etc, and belongs either on "Books" world as a format option, as they have publishers and ISBN numbers there, and it's a book!, or, given that there are a great many Audio books, it's own, separate world especially if the total number of Audio Books out there would warrant it.
Personally, we have two worlds currently, CD Album and CD Single world, and both intuitively are for music, not books.
If it was just one world, i.e. "CD World", (i.e the Format argument), then that's a different scenario, then every CD could be thrown into one pot, singles and albums, books and everything else on CD, which, i'm sure nobody really wants?
(I,m just asking the question again before some poor MOD has to start transfering the ever growing number of them over;)(if a descision is made of course;)
Just throwing it out there again, please forgive;)
I think the last time this came up it was suggested that somebody could set it up over on "Spaces". I had bought quite a few Audiobooks solely as cheap method of getting good cases, They probably only ever got one listen and then straight to the charity shop. I binned hundreds of them because there was very little interest in the subject.

Also when asked OC was quite happy for them to be added to the format worlds as well as we have guidelines not rules the same with Classical I add to the format world first then Classical.
Understood gentlemen, regarding the format argument, but my idea is that primarily Audio Books should be added to "Books" World, after all, that is what they are marketed as?.
When a publisher agrees to publish a book, surely, the next question is how many hardbacks, how many paperbacks, how many audio books shall we produce, not, how many CD Albums shall we produce.
As these are marketed as books IMHO and have an ISBN, would it not be easier then to add an Audio Books option alongside the current "Hardcover", "Paperback", "Anthology", "Book Type" options?, that way giving them a true home.
Anyhow, i'll leave it there i think as i'm not really that interested;)

I agree that the logical place is as a format in Books.
Spoken-word recordings that are not related to a published book are rightly to be entered in their format world and can then be tagged as Spoken-word
