| The death of cassettes |

 | Iggypig Pop cassette lover Member since May 2013 331 Points Moderator | I guess you could say that this year is the tenth anniversary of the death of the cassette single in the UK. Although there would still be some releases, major record labels stopped their acts releasing cassette singles during 2003, some acts that had released a cassette in the early part of 2003 didn't necessarily see their next single get a cassette release. Let's all bow our heads for a minute and remember this little gem of a format. |

To me it feels very satisfying to know that we only have to cover this very brief period for the format. It seems quite possible that one day we will list every cassingle release, at least from the Western world |

| Iggypig Pop cassette lover Member since May 2013 331 Points Moderator | This is very true, lots of acts who's cassettes I'm chasing, I'm having such trouble locating. Mainly acts from the early 2000's, and singles which didn't chart very high, and therefore didn't hand around in the shops for long are very difficult to find. |
