Many of you may have found yourself here via the parent website www.45cat.com in which case using the website and making additions should be straightforward.

If you are new to 45cat or any of the other worlds then we urge you to read this quick guide.

If you plan to submit any CD singles to the website then there is an even shorter guide to submitting a CD which is worth reading as each world, although very similar, may have slight differences.

A couple of things worth mentioning to begin with...

1. issue copies, promos and CDR promos will have individual entries on the database. Soon they will display one after the other on the discographies. It'll all make sense once it happens but basically it's so that we don't have a load of bleak looking CDRs in amongst the proper issued CDs. The contents of Promotional vs issue copy CDs also differ so often that we may as well make it a firm rule.

2. We've found that 'arranger' isn't used very often in the 80s/90s/00s so we've taken away the datafield. CD single credits can be very long winded and complicated so we advise using the notes section more than before for additional production, remixed by, edited by - that type of thing.

3. Many major label releases had one identical release for the whole of Europe so we're going to try out having Europe as an option when entering a CD. It's impossible to set 100% firm rules on this but my advice would be to enter CDs which show clear signs of being a multi-country release i.e. several country specific catalogue numbers or performing rights societys (BIEM, SACEM etc)

Smaller labels may too have had their CDs sold throughout Europe or worldwide but if they are strongly associated with one country then please still enter them as that i.e. [label=domino]Domino[/label] would be UK, City Slang could be German etc. etc.

Important! - Country of manufacture is irrelevant in deciding this.

Any other problems then please ask on the forum.

We're a friendly bunch all in all.

I'm in now! I have quite a large CDS collection, but still have too many 7" to concentrate on at the moment!

I'll have a rummage through in the near future, and see what I have to offer.
