I have scanned the artwork for the j-cards with the first scan showing cover, spine and end flap, and the second scan showing the back.
At first I thought that's the perfect way, but having a look at the images done cover only and the scan of the back showing spine and flap I'm not sure anymore.
Due to the various sizes of the cropped artwork the images of my contributions look "uneven" on the release page.
I feared that doing it the second way might obsure parts of the back artwork due to the flap, but this fear seems to be unnecessary...
Any thoughts/opinions which style is better?

I agree we are just starting to find the best way to show all the images (didn't know they were called j-cards but that sounds good)
[image]214[/image]
I agree the first image should be the front of the j-card or the front of a folder case, but it would look better of these were cropped to a square without the flap. It would be nice to show the entire unfolded j-card but the current image settings do not allow this, at least not with sufficient resolution to read the details
To show what I mean, I have added a temporary image

To be readable this needs to be double this size. Should we consider changing the image limits to allow this?

The first scan of j-cards (didn't know their name either) I tried scanning like yours but later ones I have folded the "flap" to the back (but not cropped to a square as you can lose too much info/pic - imagine how much would be lost on the both images below if I cropped them to a square)

Version 1 - Flap to front

Version 2 - Flap to back

I think the folded flap version (2) looks better.

I prefer V2 (flap to back) too.

I'm not sure what difference you are trying to show, but both are a nice way to show the details on the rear

When I say 'square' I mean square-ish, the point being to show only the cropped front image for the record thumbnail

Hey JJ - poor example had to change the oasis pic for one with the flap to the front.

In the two pics you put up yes they look great but if you have a look at the Van Morrison disc Leonard has put up, the flap, A: looks out of place on the front scan; B: if folded it can hide a fair bit of info.

What he's done by putting two front scans up solves the problem.

We're getting there

Excuse my being thick, but do I take it that a j-card is the same as a jewel case insert? How should we describe them when uploading front/back images? Should we also be editing them to a rectangle or editing the images so that the bit of the insert/cover (call it what you will) near the jewel case hinge shows?

Simon, your scans and descriptions look good to me
