Are these people all members of Enigma? (Forgive my ignorance)

Sorry, I should have explained more!

Enigma is a project by Michael Cretu, who released a number of solo works in the late 70s/80s. Later he worked with Tissy Thiers (Cretu & Thiers/CaT), then created Enigma. Part-way through Enigma he collaborated with Peter Cornelius (Cornelius & Cretu), and later Jens Gad (Trance Atlantic Air Waves - forgot to add that one - http://www.45worlds.com/cdsingle/artist/trance-atlantic-air-waves).

Ideally Cretu & Thiers, Enigma, Cornelius & Cretu, and Trance Atlantic Air Waves should come under a search for 'Michael Cretu', but as he never released anything CD-wise under his full name, perhaps all under Enigma, or linked to/from Enigma being the most well known of his works?

As for Sandra, Andru Donalds, bother were major parts of the Enigma project, providing lyrics, vocals and music over several albums and singles, with Enigma being a major part of their respective discographies.

Does that make sense? :embarrassed:

It does. Many thanks. I like what I've heard of Enigma but until now knew nothing about them!

I'll get to this later unless some other kind Moderator beats me to it :-)

I think we create a Michael Cretu page for his various "solo" projects, collaborations and early stuff to be gathered together, we then link to the separate Enigma discog via a "see also" (and vice versa). I think!

Sandra and Andru we can do via "see also" links as well.

(At work at the moment and this is a bit involved for now).

Cheers.

I have added Michael Cretu as an artist, and started a biography for him. The only way we can see and edit his biog is to have some records under his name, so in the first instance I have linked him to Enigma

Now it's your turn wonky_eggs to edit the biog (you will then get the credit for the biog :-). You can similarly add biogs for all the related artists to link them as you see fit. Sorry to throw this back to you, but it's past my bedtime! The mod's can of course link artists or add "See also" notes, but I'll leave it with you for now

- Jules

I'd forgotten about this to be honest. Thanks Jules for stepping in.

If there's further work to be done on this (which it looks like!) then I'll help out with it later on (at work now).

Right, done some more work on this. How does it look now?

Also... I am of the opinion that many (if not all) of the "German" CDs under the Enigma banner (and related) are more than likely pan-European releases rather than specifically German (and if so, need to be changed). Any thoughts on this (anyone)?

Thanks both of you for doing all of that, it's looking good. The only thing I can see missing is a link from Trance Atlantic Air Waves to Michael Cretu.

As for the pan-EU releases. I think you're probably right. I think I might have added some of those before I realised there is an option for EU-wide releases, so just added the country I knew the CD was released in. Do you want me to go through them and pin-point which ones will need the change?

The annoying thing is when you get 'EU' releases that are released in one country, and another 'EU' release in a different country, same single, but with different track listings/covers etc.

I could just change all the German ones to "Europe" if that would solve it... are ANY of them specific to Germany (or another country)?

Will add Trance/Cretu linkback later.

Cheers

Having a quick look over, the first two (Mea Culpa & Rivers of Belief) are definitely German releases, the others would be EU.

Looking at the ones I added for the UK, 'Push the Limits' shows EU rather than UK, despite this release being different to the version released throughout mainland Europe. Change to EU, or leave as UK?

I think we leave that one as UK, as it's the country of release that we want, rather than manufacture (if different).

I've not got to this yet but will hopefully do so later (or someone else will).

Cheers

EDIT: Sorted the Germany section out now.

I think I've made a bit of a mistake with some of my additions. I know they were released in the UK but they were made in either Austria, Germany or the EU so I've added them under those countries, yet they have UK catalogue numbers. Should I have logged them as UK but put in the Notes where they were manufactured?

Essentially, yes.

If they were a UK specific release then they go under UK (regardless of where they were made).

If they were a pan-European release (as most major label releases from the mid 90s onwards seem to be) then Europe it is.

I have been keeping an eye on the Austria page and most of what was on there has been moved (though I've not checked for a week or so).

Just checked Austria, it looks pretty clear at the moment and we only have four CDs listed - at least three of them are definitely Austrian singles, the other one maybe European.

Of course it isn't always clear so I think we have to accept we are always going to have entries under Germany/Holland/Austria that shouldn't be there, but c'est la vie. We can but do our best! :headphones:

I'm sure he did say he was going to put something in the Guide a while back... I haven't checked to be honest. Maybe should be flagged up again.

Sharon Corr (on whom I submitted 2 solo album CD's.) Needs to be added as a "See Also:" on The Corrs CD page.

Just noticed that this is for the CD singles "See Also". This is for the CD Albums page.
