Anthology series created and produced by Steven Spielberg, named after and inspired by the pulp SF story magazine of the same title.

The series had no recurring cast, nor did it feature a narrator or host.

The later animated series Family Dog is technically a spin-off of Amazing Stories as it was an expansion of an episode. The movie Batteries Not Included was originally planned as an episode, but was expanded into a feature film instead.

In an unusual move for the time, Spielberg was able to guarantee at least a two-season run prior to the show's debut, though it did not survive beyond that.
