"Baggy Pants" was a takeoff on Charlie Chaplin's films, with Baggy Pants (a cat) playing the Chaplin role; Mac (a pig) was his adversary. "The Nitwits" were the "Tyrone and Gladys" characters from "Laugh-In" who were married and crimefighters in this animated adaptation.

Originally aired from September 10, 1977 to October 14, 1978 as part of NBC's "Fun Machine" Saturday morning lineup.
