Based upon, and a follow up to, an acclaimed series of documentaries dating back to the original Scared Straight! from 1978. The series (as with the original documentaries) follows a group of troubled youths who take part in a controversial program where they are placed in contact with hardened criminals in prison who attempt to deter them a life of crime.
