Notes

Based on the US game of the same name. The contestants (1 vs 2) game board consisted of 20 interlocking hexagons arranged in five columns of four the solo player had to go down the board to win and only had to get four hexagon right. Each hexagon contained a letter of the alphabet except X & Z. A contestant would choose one of the letters and would be asked a general knowledge question whose correct answer began with the chosen letter. ITV showed it from 1983-1993, Sky 1 1994-1995, BBC 2 1997 Sky 1 (again) 2000-2001 and Challenge 2012 now retitled has All New Blockbusters. There have been 15 series with 1541 episodes in total.

harley 9th Jul 2015		@Monolith I did some research as this use to be one of my favorite shows till Bob left and I've added all the information I've found in the notes. I also added the new title card they used on Challenge Television.

Monolith 4th Jun 2015		Well IMDB has it listed up to 2012 Whereas TV Rage has them under two different listings. So to sum up..... I don't know.
TopPopper 4th Jun 2015		Point of order - it was re-activated a few years back. Simon Mayo was host. It was still called Blockbusters. I think this should be considered the same show - what do others say? (Mind you, "I'll have a P please Simon" doesn't have the same ring to it!)

biffbampow-45worlds 4th Jun 2015		I saw the first 2 or 3 years of this and remember enjoying it at the time. I didn't see it for another few years then happened to see it at my grandparents at some point in the early 90's and at the end, these moron students rushed the stage doing their stupid "dance" to this and I'll never forget it because I actually muttered out aloud - in front of my beloved grandparents both in their mid 70's by then - "What the F*** is THIS bullsh*t?" Cue a polite apology for my profanity... a few moments later the awkward silence was broken by my grandfather who then uttered "Well... it is a load of bloody bullsh*t isn't it? Bloody idiots acting like prats on TV like that..." Sigh... how I miss him!
