Police officer: Do you realize that newspaper's upside down sir?

Eddie: ...so are my eyes.

Yeah Mono, it weren't a bad show, if you wanted to just forget about everything and watch two funny guys bash the sh*t out of each other in some sort of Tom & Jerry/Road Runner cartoon violence pastiche. Did I like it? Hell yeah!

One memorable quote, totally out of context, which I have remembered, for some reason or another:

Eddie: Welcome to Eddie's Bar!

Love this show, every episode and in this idiot's opinion is the best thing that Mayall & Edmonson ever did in their careers.

 A real opinion-divider, this one...

When it was on its game, it was as good as The Young Ones and Blackadder, IMHO!

I was kinda on the fence with this. I saw some of the first series on transmission and... it just didn't grab me at all... it felt like more of the same old same old that Rik and Ade had been doing for years and given Rik's wonderful portrayal of Alan B'Stard, I kinda felt it was a backward step for him. Despite that... it does have it's place and their style was unique (even if it borrowed heavily from the likes of The Three Stooges) and in recent years have begun to appreciate it for what it is - just manic mindless mayhem! Rik and Ade certainly were masters at what they did.

I don't know if it's just me, but I always thought this would have been even better if they'd retained the names they had in the Young Ones, so we see how they turned out later in life. "Mike" was in several episodes too.
