Canada-US co-production.

Produced for syndication as a tie-in with a line of Power Ranger toys. The toys were designed to interact with events on TV if they were aimed at glowing spots on the screen.

Although heavily criticized at the time for its marketing tie-in, the series was also known for its writing which was overseen by contributors such as J. Michael Straczynski, who went on to create Babylon 5. The series is also notable as being one of the few children's series to have an ongoing character violently killed off.
