Notes

White’s third staring series, created by Don Fedderson, was around newlyweds Vickie Angle, and insurance salesman Gus Angle. The original idea (loosely based on the Elmer Rice play Dream Girl) has Vickie as a chronic daydreamer, imagining various scenarios unfolding for each episodic situation. Although this device was used in the pilot, only two other episodes explored this concept, and it was dropped in favor of more traditional sitcom plots. The series started as a summer replacement, with its first season airing May 10, 1957 to August 2, 1957. The show was popular enough to be put on the fall schedule with the second season premiering exactly one month later. Following this ratings fell and the show’s final episode airing January 28, 1958. The next week the show was replaced by the second version of The Betty White Show.
