Magic Marmalade 7th Feb 2021
| | I don't think they could ever make too many of these!
... It's like the Archers, for our generation.
(I sometimes see detectorists when I'm out looking at a rock or two in a field for my megalithic purposes... Always a nod and a "how'd ye do") |

Quad5point1 30th Jun 2016
| | Could be a case of "We know what we did wrong in the first, let's fix it with a second go at it" |
Monolith 29th Jun 2016
| | I thought the first one was okay, I detached myself from the original movie/series to give the new cast a fairer chance.
It wasn't "that" funny, but had a few smily moments, my missus has watched it about 6 times.
Maybe the second one will be better, but judged on the first I'll certainly give a new one a viewing. |

Quad5point1 24th Jun 2016
| | Are you serious, Dad's Army 2, I relly didn't think much of the first one. It's hard to top Arthur Lowe's pure comedic genius although I did like Bill Nighy's Sgt Wilson |
henry29 23rd Jun 2016

Graham7 30th Dec 2015
| | Just found out that Johnny Flynn's theme tune is (or was) available as a 7" single (limited edition of 500).
The Xmas special was great, hope there's going to be more. I'd like to see them out of their usual setting, maybe Lance can visit Andy in Botswana. |

Magic Marmalade 26th Dec 2015

Quad5point1 5th Dec 2015

Magic Marmalade 5th Dec 2015
| | Wonderfully surreal moment:
"Was there a child in it?"
How come you have to wait an eternity for something like Sherlock to produce a new series because of the commitments of the actors etc. and yet Toby Jones finds time to be brilliant in multiple things at once with no bother?
These series seem to be on for too short a time as well. |
Graham7 5th Dec 2015
| | "Just need the farmer back in the show somehow"
He did pop up didn't he, looking for a trampoline, or was I seeing things? |
Magic Marmalade 4th Dec 2015
| | Last one in the series last night.
More!!!
(Please Sir Mr Crook - and BBC -...can I have some More?)
Christmas special soon. |
Magic Marmalade 31st Oct 2015
| | Best prog on the box!
(Just need the farmer back in the show somehow... and I have to say each episode feels a little too short - at least 45 mins would be good). |
Graham7 16th Oct 2015
| | Series 2 starting 29th October, still on BBCFour |
Magic Marmalade 2nd Oct 2015
| | When the original airing of this first series finished, the announcer said it would be back in the autumn... meantime I'll enjoy watching it again!
That farmer (and the actor playing him) is just great :)
"Anybody seen my dogs?" |

Monolith 24th May 2015
| | Great show, really grew on me.
Gonna get me a couple of those invisible dogs meself, don't cost much to feed and are self cleaning. |
deltic 24th May 2015
| | Hidden away on BBC4 this series about the apparently mundane hobby of metal detecting won pretty much universal acclaim (along with a BAFTA) following its showing last year. Although it could be described as a gentle comedy that's doing it a disservice. It's something that really needs to be re-watched both to savour the nuances of the dialogue and pick up the things you missed first time round.
There are plans for a second series and I wouldn't be surprised to see a move to BBC 1 or 2. |
Magic Marmalade 24th May 2015
| | Great show, can't wait for second series!
The mad farmer with the invisible dogs is one of the best characters I've seen in a long while. |
