TV Series
Notes A sci-fi drama created by Kit Pedler and Gerry Davis (who had worked on Doctor Who in the 1960's) based around a Government scientific department that dealt with cases of an "unusual" nature. Pedler and Davis were keen to explore a whole bunch of issues and theories based upon fact and the show had a gritty stark realism about it that was striking for it's time. Unfortunately, by the time the third series came along on 1972, Pedler and Davis were dismayed seeing it heading off in more fantastical situations, notably the first episode where Dr John Ridge held the world to ransom with Anthrax... 38 episodes were made over three series, the final one to be made "Sex and Violence" was not broadcast. The entire second series from 1971 exists in it's entirety, but the first series of 13 episodes, 5 are missing and the third series containing 12 episodes, 9 are lost... ironically the untransmitted episode being one of the three to survive.
