US-Canada co-production filmed in Alberta.

Technically a spin-off of the cable series Masters of Horror as this anthology series - which like the original featured episodes directed by noted Hollywood directors like John Landis - was originally planned as the third season of Masters of Horror before the parent series was cancelled. This version aired on NBC and as such scaled back the violence and sexuality of the original series. Launched a summer series, it was called after 8 of 13 episodes produced were broadcast, though it officially was not cancelled until the following spring. All episodes were later released on DVD

Like Masters of Horror, the series had no host or recurring cast members.
