Notes

Based upon a controversial series of young adult novels. The series itself was controversial though more due to its sexually provocative promotional campaigns than the show itself.

Narrator Bell never appeared on screen as the "Gossip Girl" and her identity is never revealed. (Bell, however, does appear as herself in the finale episode.) Bell's involvement in the early seasons coincided with her recurring role on Heroes.

The series was also adapted in Turkey, Mexico (which aired in the US as Gossip Girl: Acapulco), China and Thailand.
