The longest-running dramatic series on US TV, this is an anthology series with no continuing characters or cast. Although considered a TV series, it does not broadcast on a regular weekly or even monthly schedule, with varying numbers of productions in any given year. Notable as the only TV series to air on ABC, NBC and CBS as well as PBS, plus the Hallmark Channel cable network. As of 2016 it is one of only a handful of sponsor-titled series still in production.

HHOF productions, particularly in recent years, are often looked upon as standalone TV movies.
