A one off series that would be the last Tony Hancock would make for the BBC. Hancock was keen to try and move in a new direction by ditching his partner Sid James who he believed was getting easy laughs. The first episode was groundbreaking stuff for it featured Hancock as the sole performer. The penultimate episode was the immortal "The Blood Donor" - the writing of Ray Galton and Alan Simpson was in top form. However, Tony ditched them and left the BBC with disastrous results sending him on a downward spiral which ended with his suicide in 1968.
