TV Series
Notes Running for 6 series between 1956 and 1960, Hancock's Half Hour was one of the rare cases where a radio show translated perfectly to television. It was enormously successful as Hancock became the best known TV comedian of his time. Written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, the shows still hold up rather well. 31 editions survive in the BBC archive. This does not include the final series he made for the BBC which featured the classic episode "The Blood Donor" which was actually entitled just "Hancock" and will have it's own entry though it's thought of being part of the overall canon anyhow.
