Originally planned for a 1982 debut, production was delayed after Gerald McRaney, after filming the pilot, had to bow out to take the co-starring role in Simon & Simon. A further delay ensued when the actor originally cast as Neal, Larry Breeding, was killed in an auto accident.

Ultimately, the effort proved fruitless as the series was cancelled after 4 episodes of 9 produced aired.
