Late-night talk show that is (as of 2016) the only American series in its original incarnation (Tonight, Late Show, etc. having all launched new versions with new hosts).

Matt Damon has made many appearances on the show as part of a running joke depicting a faux feud between him and Kimmel (with Damon hijacking the hosting duties for one episode while Kimmel was left tied to a chair in the background).

Despite the title, the series is not usually broadcast live, though it has occasional live special event episodes.
