Notes

Notable as the first American-produced TV series with an African-American woman in a leading role in which the character is in a professional career, in this case she is a nurse. It was also one of the first US series to feature a family impacted by the Vietnam war as the series begins after Julia's husband has been killed in battle (itself an unusually downbeat concept for a situation comedy of the time).

Originally broadcast without a laugh track (one of the few sitcoms of the era to not have one), but one was later added in syndication.
