They also did a live show from the Royal Bath & West Show which featured Chester in a mobile hand cart. Apart from a clip on YouTube, all of this series is now lost.

Neil Forbes 8th Aug 2015		@Henry29, Cheers! Thanks for the info. I remember seeing an episode or three of the series as it had the briefest of runs on NBN-Newcastle(Australia). I think it was shown late at night, around 10.30pm or 11.00pm but can't remember what night it was on. As for Orbit, this show never showed up on our screens in Australia, though Basil Brush was a favourite with Aussie kids.
RadoxTheGreen 8th Aug 2015		You're probably right about it being only local, Zabadak. Back then ITV had a lot more regional broadcasts than they do today. Saturday mornings would be turned over to the local stations to do their own children's shows. The "moan rocket" would deliver letters to the show. I remember being surprised when the village up the road got a mention one day. They did a live show from the Royal Bath & West Show one year. Chester was in a hand cart sealed in a protective bubble (probably to stop the kids from breaking him). Chester was LOUD! I was stood next to the cart and nearly got deafened when he started laughing. HTV liked their puppets, I remember Annie St. John doing continuity and reading out kids letters with "Oscar", the world's most unconvincing owl puppet (it was on a stick in her hand). I was gutted when I heard she'd died. Then Alan Taylor went 7 years later and it was like my childhood died with him. As I put on the picture's mouseover note, best childrens presenter EVER!

Neil Forbes 7th Aug 2015		I recall a TV comedy series produced by HTV West starring Warren Mitchell(in a post-'Til Death Us Do Part role) which made it onto some regional stations here in Australia. Thing is, I can't remember the title but I think it was a political comedy.
zabadak 7th Aug 2015		Oh my chuffing God! I used to love this! They showed cartoons and lots of cool stuff. My mum used to hate this, so I loved it even more! We lived in a Westward TV catchment area but reception was so poor that DER Rentals gave us a signal booster. This meant we could also pick up HTV West! If this had not happened, I don't think I would ever have come across this gem as I don't think it was syndicated... :grin:
