Spun off the animated series It's Punky Brewster. A second spin-off, Fenster Hall, was attempted by way of a backdoor pilot episode, but did not become a series. Instead, characters from that show were integrated into the parent program.

The first three seasons ran on NBC, with the final season airing in first-run syndication.

Series co-star Cherie Johnson was the niece of the show's creator and was cast as a fictional version of herself.
