Remake of the UK series Steptoe and Son.

After its cancellation a short-lived continuation series without Redd Fox titled Sanford Arms was attempted. During its run a short-lived spinoff called Grady also aired. A revival series starring Foxx titled simply Sanford aired in 1980-1981.

At the height of its popularity, NBC aired The Best of Sanford and Son, consisting of reruns from past seasons, during the 1975-76 season, concurrent with new episodes still being produced.
