US-Canada co-production.

First spin-off of Stargate SG-1 (itself based upon the movie Stargate). Followed by Stargate Universe. After the cancellation of Atlantis was announced after five seasons attempts were made to "uncancel" the show for a sixth series or produce a movie spinoff titled Stargate: Extinction, but due to the economic downturn of the time, neither plan came together.
