Based upon the novel Tempered Blade, a biography of adventurer Jim Bowie, inventor of the Bowie knife.

Two seasons were produced. Reportedly, Forbes quit the series immediately upon learning that it had been cancelled, resulting in an unusual situation in which a series' final episode was actually absent its star and lead character.
