TV Series
Notes Saturday morning cartoon loosely based upon the Charlie Chan mystery novels, with Keye Luke, who played Chan's son in a series of movies in the 1930s and 40s, returning to voice Chan himself (becoming reportedly the first Chinese actor to actually play the role on screen in the process). Initially, virtually the entire voice cast was of Asian descent, a first for an American animated series. However, when it was found that young viewers had trouble understanding the accents, most of the children were recast with actors such as future movie star Jodie Foster being recruited. As single season of 16 episodes as produced, but it was rerun for a while afterwards.
