Almost forgotten now, Arthur Haynes was one of the biggest TV comedians of his time. A sketch based show with musical guests, the main scriptwriter in later years was Johnny Speight who would soon create Alf Garnett. A big ratings hit, it ran for 15 series over ten years. 158 shows were made in all. None of the first six series were ever recorded hence they don't exist but from series 7 onwards (1960) every show was recorded and survive to this day, having been issued on DVD over the last few years.
