TV Series
Notes A spin-off of The Dean Martin Show, which had introduced the format of star-studded comedy "roasts" of celebrities during its final season, 1973-74. The specials aired regularly (at least once a month during the TV season, sometimes more frequently) between 1974 and 1979. After a hiatus, three final specials aired in 1984. The later Comedy Central Roasts specials were inspired by the Dean Martin programs. Initially, the specials had no on-screen logo, with the title spoken by an announcer, usually over an image of the honoured celebrity, with "Man/Woman of the Hour" around their portrait; the first honouree was Bob Hope in October 1974. Some episodes aired without "The" in the title. Dean Martin himself was roasted during one special hosted by Don Rickles. The IMDb lists each special separately so no overall link is available.
