Notes

A spin-off of The Dean Martin Show, which had introduced the format of star-studded comedy "roasts" of celebrities during its final season, 1973-74. The specials aired regularly (at least once a month during the TV season, sometimes more frequently) between 1974 and 1979. After a hiatus, three final specials aired in 1984.

The later Comedy Central Roasts specials were inspired by the Dean Martin programs.

Initially, the specials had no on-screen logo, with the title spoken by an announcer, usually over an image of the honoured celebrity, with "Man/Woman of the Hour" around their portrait; the first honouree was Bob Hope in October 1974. Some episodes aired without "The" in the title.

Dean Martin himself was roasted during one special hosted by Don Rickles.
