Notes

US-UK co-production adapting the M.M. Kaye novel; this was the first miniseries produced by HBO. Filmed in India and Wales.

Originally broadcast in 3 episodes. The miniseries was re-edited into six episodes for later rebroadcast, and this is the version released to DVD. An edited-down version of the miniseries was also given theatrical release as Blade of Steel.
