Dubbed into English, this was repeatedly broadcast by the BBC and is familiar to all those of a certain age. However, the BBC never successfully broadcast the final episode without techincal faults affecting the transmission. When the DVD was released, the final episode was included, but in subtitled French rather than dubbed English as on the rest of the episodes.

The show was previously broadcast in France as "Le Chevalier Tempête", a four part 75-minute episode serial.

This was cut down to create the 12 (25-minute) episode series "The Flashing Blade" shown by the BBC.
