| | Hi, RC. Okay, we now know Region 2 DVDs will play on Region 4 players, but this doesn't come anywhere near answering the question of whether "The Ghosts Of Motley Hall" is available for purchase in Australia. |

| | @RC, you've come across copies of this show, perhaps. Is it available in Australia or does it have to be imported? |

| | Thanks for the info, Carryonsydney and Radox The Green. As I said a couple of days ago, if shows like this haven't been on TV here in Australia, video retailers like J.B. Hi-Fi won't stock them. That's the big hassle here. We miss out on seeing these shows on broadcast TV and with the advent of home video, first on VHS or Beta tape, then on DVD or Blu-Ray, for the largest part, retailers here will take the attitude that "if the local stations didn't show these programmes, they'll mean nothing to the average punter(consumer), so there's no point in us stocking copies of theses series". |

| | Turns out I was correct about it being broadcast on a Sunday though.
There is a fansite here if you need further info. |

| | Yes, it's on DVD. There were also some paperback books of the series too.
Carryonsidney, the boy you're thinking of is the ghost of Matt the footman. Unlike the other ghosts he could leave the hall and venture into the grounds. The actor who played him was killed in a road accident 3 years after this series. |

| | Might try tracking it down, Radox. Is it on DVD? Trouble is, shows like this, if they haven't been on TV here in Australia, video retailers like J.B. Hi-Fi won't stock them. |

| | I remember watching this, I think it might have been broadcast on a Sunday for some reason.
The puzzle for me is that I was certain there was a recurring main part for a child character in this programme, but there is no mention of any boy on the IMDB page, the plot conceit given, as only the boy could see the ghosts? ie a central character? |

| | It's worth tracking down Neil. Superb series that puts a lot of today's shows to shame, both kids shows and adults. |

| | This is another one we never saw in Australia. But it seems, Britain, with haunted towns like Derby, and places like Chillingham and Tutbury Castles, Leith Hall and such-like which are said to abound with ghosts, it's natural such a show would be popular there. |
