US-UK co-production primarily filmed in Britain for syndication.

Followed a series of motion pictures focusing on the Asian detective and his "Number One Son" as they solved crimes. By convention, Western actors play Charlie Chan while Asian actors play his hyper-competent son/sidekick. One season was produced.

Already an established actor by the time he appeared in this series, James Hong went on to become a prolific screen and TV actor whose career as extended into the 2010s.
