Not to be confused with the 1970 sitcom series of the same name. The Tim Conway Show was a 1980 variety show. The show was very much in vain of The Carol Burnett Show even being produced by Carol’s husband, Joe Hamilton. All of his Carol Burnett co-stars joined him as a guest star and even Harvey Korman later joining the cast.

The series premiered on March 22, 1980. The series was able to do something that none of Tim’s other shows could do, get renewed for a second season. With a few cast changes and the program being changed from a hour to a half in hour, the next season of The Tim Conway Show premiered September 20, 1980. The season opener was a parody of the TV show Dallas. It was clear though by the 1980s the variety show format was dead with Tim being one of the very last to do it on network TV. The final episode aired March 7, 1981 and was soon canceled. Reruns of the show did continue in the summer switching from Saturday nights at 8:30 to Monday nights at 8:30.
