Canada-US co-production.

A sequel to the 1953 George Pal movie War of the Worlds, featuring the same Martian ship designs and sound effects and one episode featured characters going back in time to the events of the original film. (Another episode revealed that elements of the 1938 Orson Welles War of the Worlds radio play also occurred in this universe.) Season 2 saw a change of format in which the timeframe is moved from the present day into a post-apocalyptic future where the lead characters squared off against a different alien race bent on taking over the earth.
